Equipping the nonprofit arts organizations in Northwest Louisiana to better manage their organization through direct Technical Assistance and extensive Training, SRAC employs a full time Community Development Director to assist Artists and Arts Organizations. Additionally, SRAC partners with the State of Louisiana Division of the Arts, LANO (Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations) and the Americans for the Arts to provide outstanding capacity building workshops, national resources, and one-on-one assistance to artists and arts organizations.

ARTIST FELLOWSHIPS
Non-matching Artist Fellowships are cash awards in recognition of artistic excellence that enable artists to pursue their artistic goals. It is the intent of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council to acknowledge distinguished fellows of the highest caliber in each discipline of the arts.
FELLOWSHIP AMOUNTS
Artist Fellowships are available to artists selected from each of six disciplines. Professional jurors, recommended by the SRAC Juried Artists’ Roster, make the selections. Jurors have the option not to award a fellowship in a category.
TYPE OF FELLOWSHIP
Applicants must designate a specific arts discipline in which to be considered. The disciplines and examples of the types of categories of art within the discipline include the following:
- Dance: Performance or Choreography
- Literature: Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Poetry
- Music: Vocal Performance, Instrumental Performance, Composition
- Theatre: Playwriting, Acting, Directing, Spoken Word
- Visual Arts: Please refer to the application for a full list.
- Multi-Disciplinary: An Artist that demonstrates proficiency in 2 or more disciplines of Art.

Regrant- Individual Artist Mini-Grant
Application Deadline: Thursday, June 30, 2016

SRAC encourages professional artists residing in or occupying a studio in the City of Shreveport to apply for a $1,000 grant to produce, present, promote, or service the arts in a manner that forwards the art form and serves the community. Grants must be matched with documented in-kind support or cash equaling 50% ($500) of the grant.
SRAC also encourages professional artists to serve as “Art Ambassadors,” representing the City of Shreveport by taking their art outside the city. Non-matching grants of $1,000 are available to assist artists who have been juried or invited to present their art outside of the Shreveport area. Funds are to be used to assist visual artists with shipping and insurance costs for their visual exhibitions. Performing artists may use funds for travel expenses related to performance and presenting; however, SRAC will consider travel fees for Visual Artists if actual presence is required and documented. Art Ambassador funds are designed to promote Shreveport’s artistic strengths by showcasing Shreveport artists. Art Ambassador grants are not available for exhibitions/performances specifically designed to generate income for the artists. Applicants must provide evidence of an invitation and be able to demonstrate a need. Art Ambassador grants are non-matching.
Individual Artist Mini-Grants are designed to encourage artistic development, to support the realization of specific artistic ideas, and to recognize the significant contribution artists make to the creative environment of our state.

PURPOSE:
The Organizational Support Program provides general operating grants to arts organizations whose programming has major impact on the Shreveport community, enriching the cultural environment of the City of Shreveport. An arts organization is one that includes in its mission statement, as adopted by the board of directors, that providing arts activities to the public is primary to its mission. First-time applicants should contact Shreveport Regional Arts Council for consultation and guidance before applying.
FUNDING LEVEL & GRANT PERIOD:
General Operating Support Organizations should use these guidelines
This category provides support for organizations whose annual cash income budget is less than $500,000. Grants will be awarded for the grant period August 1, 2016 to July 31, 2017.
ELIGIBILITY:
All non-profit arts organizations in possession of a Determination Letter from the Internal Revenue Service declaring the organization exempt from federal tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code are eligible to apply. A private non-profit arts organization is defined as a private organization whose purpose, programs, and services are primarily arts related. Only arts organizations incorporated within the city limits of Shreveport are eligible to apply under this program.

ELIGIBLE FUNDING REQUESTS:
Requests for Project Assistance may be submitted in an amount not less than $1,000 and not more than $3,000. An artist or non-profit art organization possessing an IRS 501 (c) (3) Determination may apply for ONE Project Assistance Grant, however, applicants receiving funds under Major Organizational Support or BCAC may not apply for any Regrant category. A non-profit organization, college, or school may apply for ONE Project Assistance grants only.
MATCHING REQUIREMENTS:
Grant amounts must be matched dollar-for-dollar. The matching dollars must be evidenced to SRAC before a grant check will be issued. The matching dollars do not have to be evidenced upon submission of application. The matching dollars may NOT be derived from other SRAC Regrant categories.
ELIGIBILITY:
All private, non-profit organizations, colleges, and universities that are incorporated within the city limits, as well as individual artists who will implement projects in Shreveport are eligible to apply for grant funds. We WILL NOT accept applications from a team of artists. An individual artist may receive the funds from SRAC and may hire or contract additional artists who are and paid through the grant.
GRANTING PERIOD:
SRAC will accept grant applications for arts programming scheduled to begin not earlier than August 1, 2016 and to end no later than July 31, 2017.
Louisiana Division of the Arts
FY 17 Decentralized Arts Funding (DAF) Program
The Louisiana Decentralized Arts Funding Program provides a system for funding arts and cultural projects in every parish of the state. Funds are provided to each parish on a per capita basis utilizing the most recent census figures. As applicants compete only with other organizations in their parish, decisions about cultural priorities are made locally.
Applications must be submitted to the Shreveport Regional Arts Council by WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2016, 4:00 PM. This is NOT A POSTMARK Deadline. This is a hard deadline and any applications received after WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2016, 4:00PM, WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
