CITY OF SHREVEPORT REGRANT  

ARTIST MINI-GRANT GUIDELINES 

DEADLINE: Thursday, January 31, 2024, at 4:00PM 

SRAC encourages professional artists residing in the City of Shreveport to apply for a $1,000 grant to produce, present, promote, or support the Arts in a manner that forwards the art form and serves the community. Grants must be matched with documented in-kind support or cash equaling 50% ($500) of the grant.  

Individual Artist Mini-Grants are designed to encourage artistic development and experimentation, to support the realization of specific artistic ideas, and to recognize the significant contribution artists make to the creative environment of our City.  

All applicants must be actively listed on the Culturalyst Northwest Louisiana Artist Directory (nwla.culturalyst.com/) at the time of submission. All questions should be directed to karen@shrevearts.org.  


Travel Assistance (events outside NWLA)

SRAC encourages professional artists residing in or occupying a studio in the City of Shreveport to apply for a $1,000 grant to serve as “Art Ambassadors,” representing the City of Shreveport by taking their art outside the City. Non-matching grants of up to $1,000 are available to assist artists who have been juried or invited to present their art outside of Northwest Louisiana.

Funds are to be used to assist Artists with all related travel expenses, to include personal travel costs as well as shipping and insurance costs for exhibitions. Art Ambassador funds are designed to promote Shreveport’s artistic strengths by highlighting Shreveport artists. Applicants must provide evidence of selection through a jury process and an invitation. Art Ambassador grants are non-matching.

2023 Artist Call Entry Fee Reimbursement

Deadline:  Wednesday, July 21, 2024

SRAC encourages professional artists residing in NWLA to apply for Artist Call Entry Fee Reimbursement. This is for artist calls outside of the NWLA area. Reimbursement is allowed for up to $100 per year. Receipts must be turned at the time of application for reimbursement.

Caddo Common Park Grant Guidelines

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, Louisiana Division of the Arts, City of Shreveport, and Parish of Caddo will empower Northwest Louisiana Artists and Arts Organizations to create, produce, and/or present projects in Caddo Common Park. The activity may take place anywhere in the Park: Performance Pavilion, Great Lawn, Food Court with the Art Trees, and/or Sidewalks. The activity is limited to the boundaries of the Park.

Caddo Common Park Project Grants will engage local participation, create unity among diverse people, advance equity, shed light on the people, places, events, and/or history that comprise the authenticity of Shreveport Common; are accessible to all people, and include an “UNcommon” – Unexpected - UNtraditional, or UNcanny (pick an “UN” word!) element that raises the project, performance/production to an UNforgettable experience.  

Funding requests range from a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $2,500 based upon the length, scope and impact of proposed programming provided in Caddo Common Park.

CITY OF SHREVEPORT REGRANT
PROJECT ASSISTANCE GUIDELINES
DEADLINE: THURSDAY JUNE 29, 2023, AT 4PM
Project Assistance Grants fund arts projects and programs with professional artistic value that meet specific community needs. Funding requests must be between $1,000 and $5,000.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
All applications must be submitted through the online form by JUNE 29, 2023 at 4PM.  No applications will be accepted after the deadline.

OPERATING SUPPORT GUIDELINES
DEADLINE: THURSDAY, JUNE 29 2023, AT 4:00 PM
The Operating Support Program provides general operating grants to Nonprofit Arts organizations with 501(c)3 designations domiciled in Shreveport whose programming has a major impact on enriching the cultural environment of the City of Shreveport. An Arts Organization is one that includes in its mission statement, as adopted by the board of directors, that providing arts activities to the public is primary to its mission, and it is defined as a private organization whose purpose, programs, and services are primarily arts related.
An Arts Organization should be established with at least two years of programming documentation and two Form 990s, audited compilation statements, or external audits. First-time applicants should contact Shreveport Regional Arts Council for guidance before applying. All questions should be directed to karen@shrevearts.org

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council provides several grant opportunities for Arts Organizations and Artists. Current opportunities include:

    ELIGIBILITY: 501 (c)3 Arts Organizations domiciled in the 10 Parishes of Northwest Louisiana, Region 7; must have UEI #, in Good Standing with Legislative Auditor, and “Arts is included in the first sentence of Mission!”; Artists registered on CULTURALYST, domiciled in the 10 Parishes of Northwest Louisiana, Region 7.

  • AMOUNT OF REQUEST: $20,000 MAX (new amount based upon available funds); $2,500 Minimum. Grant must be matched with 30% of request. Match may be 50% cash and 50% in-kind.

    PURPOSE: Assist professional Artists with up to $1,000 in travel expenses to attend Exhibitions, Performances, or Presentations featuring their work based upon a JURIED SELECTION PROCESS

    ELIGIBILITY: Professional Artists residing/domiciled in Northwest Louisiana who are registered on CULTURALYST; the travel fees are paid for participation in a JURIED event/experience that makes the Artist an “Ambassador” of the Arts in Northwest Louisiana

    AWARD: Max of $100 per year; reimbursement

    DUE DATE: Submit invoice for reimbursement as soon as entry fees are paid and not more than 30 days after entry fees are paid
