Shreveport Regional Arts Council’s Policy on AI

Shreveport Regional Arts Council recognizes that the governance of artificial intelligence is an evolving area requiring ongoing evaluation. As technologies, legal standards, and best practices continue to develop, the committee may recommend a more comprehensive policy framework in the future. To establish an immediate and practical foundation, the committee recommends that SRAC adopt and implement the following policies without delay.

  1. Permissible Use of AI Tools

Generative AI may not be used in SRAC marketing. AI tools may be used for limited administrative purposes only, in accordance with the guidelines set forth below.

  2. Protection of Privacy

Any SRAC staff member, contractor, or volunteer using AI for administrative purposes must ensure that no sensitive, confidential, or personally identifiable information is entered into or processed by AI tools.

  3. Restriction on AI Training Use

SRAC will not use platforms or programs that permit artwork (in any form) to be scraped, harvested, or otherwise used for training, developing, or improving AI systems.

  4. Authorship and Eligibility Requirements

All art submissions must comply with applicable copyright laws and demonstrate significant human authorship. Works that do not meet these criteria may be deemed ineligible. Each submission must be accompanied by an affidavit affirming that the work is the result of human creation.

  5. Exceptions and External Requirements

Limited exceptions to this policy may apply where compliance with AI-related requirements is mandated by funding bodies, institutional policies, or governing authorities.
