Now a state-wide initiative, the Artists’ Directory is designed to recognize artists from all art disciplines and media in Northwest Louisiana. The NWLA Culturalyst registry is a tool to promote the work of visual, performing, and literary artists living in Northwest Louisiana. This valuable resource provides a platform for artist to connect with curators, organizations, architects, developers, community organizations, and businesses.
Artist UP! Artists Entrepreneurial Training
Shreveport Regional Arts Council presents the return of the ARTIST UP the ARTIST ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM! Artist Up! will level up skills and experience of emerging artists through a series of courses/classes. Led by renowned Dallas, Texas curator and mixed media artist Lesli Marshall, this 9 week course promises to deliver strategies for increasing earned income for artists from the production, marketing, distribution of Art by at least 30% within one year of course completion.
It is a goal of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council to strengthen the professional arts community in order to advance the Arts, and maximize access to the Arts, for the people of Shreveport, Bossier and Northwest Louisiana. Graduates will create a marketing portfolio and take part in a group exhibition at the Central ARTSTATION.

Kallenberg Artist Residency (KAT Residency)
Now....Welcome to the tallest, smallest apartment for Artist Residencies: the Kallenberg Artist Tower (KAT)! Located at the Central ARTSTATION, the home of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council and center for the presentation, exhibition, performance, creation of and education about the Arts, the KAT is located at 801 Crockett Street in Downtown Shreveport in the heart of Shreveport Common, destined to become the destination for UNexpected, Unprecedented, UNabashed, experiences that form an UNcommon Cultural Community.
The Shreveport Regional Arts Council offers an annual week-long (six night/seven day) “KAT” Residency for a Visual Artist, a Performing Artist, and a Literary Artist. This application is open exclusively to Artists who reside in Louisiana.
NWLA Artist Roster
"Roster" status indicates that the Artist is working in a consistent manner to produce, distribute, and receive recognition for outstanding work. To gain Roster status, there is an annual Juried Review of the Northwest Louisiana Directory. Roster Artists keep their status for 5 years, and then they must apply again.
Roster Artists meet monthly to develop Regional Arts Policy, learn about upcoming Calls and Commissions, and share personal progress.
City of Shreveport Artist Fellowship
Artist Fellowships are $2,500 cash awards (awarded annually) in recognition of artistic excellence that enable artists to pursue their artistic goals. These awards acknowledge distinguished Fellows of the highest caliber in each discipline of the arts.
Non-matching Artist Fellowships are cash awards in recognition of artistic excellence that enable artists to pursue their artistic goals. It is the intent of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council to acknowledge distinguished fellows of the highest caliber in each discipline of the Arts.
Artist Calls
The Shreveport Regional Arts Council has many programs that are in need of artists and their services. These opportunities are posted on our website and e-mailed out monthly. Almost all SRAC Artist Calls require the artist to be registered on Culturalyst - the Northwest Louisiana Artist Directory.
