AARP LOUISIANA “Stories from Shreveport!” – Video program

Zoom, Learn, and Interact with AARP Louisiana and the Shreveport Regional Arts Council!  Spend a nice cool afternoon in the comfort of your home. (Yes!  This is a legitimate “Couch Potato” opportunity)

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council has teamed up with AARP Louisiana to bring three dynamic zoom presentations with area Artists that will whet your appetite, paint the town red – or at least paint your portrait, and give you something to rhyme about. 

First, on Wednesday, August 11, 2:00 pm meet three outstanding Chefs who share their top secret recipes with you.  This is CULINARY ART at its finest:

Thursday, August 26, 2:00 pm features Portrait Painting with Critic’s Choice Visual Art Winner, Muralist, and Arts Instructor, Eric Francis. Even if you are not a painter, you’ll appreciate Eric’s smooth moves as he maneuvers the brush to create tones, shading, and a perspective that will send you straight to the mirror to see if it is all true!

Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2:00 pm brings the recent Caddo Parish Poet Laureate, Ashley Mace Havird front and center to teach you the Art of Writing a Poem.  We all have something profound to say, Ashley will help you create the rhythm, syntax, and find just the right word to say it with perfect poetic polish!
